Ok so it took me about thirty years to finally give it a try. Cooking lentils from dry, quite scary stuff before you actually try.
And you should try! Lentils are delicious and cheap!

What you need
- 1 cupdry lentils
- 1 1/2 cupchicken stock
How it's made |
- Sort through the lentils and rinse them under cold water.
- Bring the broth to a boil. Add the lentils to the pot, and bring back to a boil stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling stir once more, cover and lower the heat. Cook for about 20mn. Try the lentils and if they are tender reserve them. If still too hard cook for an extra 5 mn and try again. They will probably need more cooking time but I like to be cautious and go nice and easy by 5mn increment, so the lentils don't get mushy.
Recipe Notes
Tip:
if you don?t have any stock, you can use water instead making?sure to?add some flavors to it, extra salt or powdered bouillon, bay leaf, onion etc...
