- 1 tbsworcestershire sauce
- 2 tbstomato paste
- 1/2 cupchicken stock
- 2 tbsbrown sugar
- 2 tspvegetable oil
for serving
- 1 dozenslider buns
- coleslaw
How it's made |
- Mix all the ingredients for the rub together and massage all over the pork after having trimmed most of the fat.
- My slow cooker has an insert that you can use on the stove, which is SUPER convenient since I like to start by browning everything I make in a slow cooker. If you have a regular slow cooker then use large saute pan. Warm up the oil on a high heat. Add the pork and brown for a couple minutes on each side. Lower the heat and set the meat aside on a plate.
- Add the stock, vinegar, barbecue sauce, tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, and reminding brown sugar to the same pan. Stir and cook on medium for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the sauce and meat in the slow cooker, cover and cook on low for about 7-8 hours, or until the meat falls appart.
- Remove the meat and place in a large bowl, it should easily fall appart. If you have a fat separator, use it with the liquid to remove the excess fat. Then pour the rest of the liquid in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, to reduce.
- Returned the now reduced sauce to the meat and serve on buns with coleslaw on the side, or inside.
